Advances are a new source of financial protection and bill paying capacity for your healthcare expenses. With most HSAs, you can only pay bills with money you have contributed and saved in your HSA. Often, particularly early in the year, you don’t have enough money saved to cover your bills. With Lane Health’s HSA Advance, you can pay those bills through your HSA.
Based on several factors (primarily your length of employment and income), we determine the amount of the Advance that will be available to you at the beginning of the year (your “Advance Limit”). When you need to pay a qualified bill, simply swipe your HSA debit card. The cash you have in your account is used first to pay the bill. If you need more, we automatically advance the funds up to your Advance Limit. We then calculate the pre-tax HSA payroll deduction required to repay the Advance over the following 12 months and communicate the change to you and your payroll provider. It’s simple, convenient and doesn’t require you to do anything other than focus on getting the care you need.
We will send you a Welcome Packet prior to the beginning of the year that includes the amount of your pre-set Advance Limit. You can also go on your Lane Health portal (BeWell.lanehealth.com) at any time to see the status of your Advances – amount available, amount outstanding, payroll deduction amount and remaining payroll periods to pay-off.
Advances are available to you on the first day of your health plan year and remain available throughout the entire year. You can receive multiple Advances up to your limit. It’s there for you when you need it.
No, we do not pull your credit report to set your initial Advance Limit.
No! Just swipe your HSA debit card and if you need an Advance to pay the bill, we automatically issue the Advance up to your Advance Limit! It’s simple and easy!
Contact Lane Health. We’ll work with you to evaluate increasing your Advance Limit. We’ll do our best to help you get the Advance Limit you need to take care of your healthcare expenses.
You can opt-out of participating in the Advance program at any time by going to the member portal (BeWell.lanehealth.com) or calling us at (833) 302-LANE (5263) and no Advances will be issued for you. If you are issued an Advance and do not want it, contact us and we will reverse the Advance in your next paycheck.
You are responsible for repayment of the Advance, including having the outstanding balance withheld from your final paycheck to settle your account. If an outstanding balance remains, we will work with you to arrange a repayment plan.
