FAQ
How do I start offering the Healthcare Spending Card to my patients?

Starting is simple. Simply get started by filling out this form and you’ll get instance access to collateral from flyers to emails. No new contracts or major changes required.

Is there any cost to my practice for using the Healthcare Spending Card?

No. Lane Health charges providers no fees to use the Healthcare Spending Card. There are no hidden costs or revenue-sharing agreements.

How does the card benefit my patients?

The card makes healthcare more accessible by offering flexible financing options, allowing patients to manage their payments over time. This means they are more likely to seek care and return to your practice for future visits.

What happens if a patient defaults on payment?

Lane Health assumes all financial risk, so you never have to worry about missed payments or defaults. We handle the payment collection and ensure you receive your funds promptly.

What's the catch? How does Lane Health make money if not requiring a revenue share?

Lane Health makes money on credit card interchange fees, as well as patient fees on 12-month loans (other than 12-month hospital loans, which are offered with 0% financing2 ). You can see our patient fee schedule here:  https://www.lanehealth.com/hsc-lb-fees.

Is it really 0% financing2 for our patients? Are there really no fees?

Cardmembers enjoy 0% financing2 for 4 months on all qualified healthcare expenses, as well as for 12 months on hospital expenses. Lane Health doesn't charge interest, negating the risk of compounding interest. Unlike other lenders, Lane Health does not subject it's cardmembers to "balloon payment" interest charges should they miss a single payment.

Lane Health charges cardmembers fees on 12-month loans (other than 12-month hospital loans, which are offered with 0% financing2). You can see our patient fee schedule here:  https://www.lanehealth.com/hsc-lb-fees.

How hard is it to signup?

Patient signup can be done in a few short minutes, right from your office! Lane Health uses Plaid to verify your patient's identity as well as to verify the income and expense information they share.

How long does the 0% financing last?

For all qualified healthcare expenses, it lasts for 4 months. For hospital expenses, it lasts for 12 months.

What does it cost for a provider to share the Healthcare Spending Card with patients?

Nothing. There are no setup fees, no recurring management fees nor any revenue sharing. Lane Health does collect interchange fees on credit card swipes.

1 Lane Health is a financial technology company, not a bank. The Healthcare Spending Card is issued by Lead Bank pursuant to a license from Visa USA Inc.
2 Lane Health does not charge interest on, or an annual fee for, the Healthcare Spending Card. “0% financing” pertains to repayment options that do not charge interest (0% interest) nor fees ($0 fees). Each Advance can be repaid in full, 4-month term or 12-month term (with a minimum $3 due each payment period). Transactions other than qualified hospital expenses (based on merchant category code) will be charged an origination fee of 5% and periodic finance fees. The location of the service provider is not determinative of whether a transaction is a qualified hospital expense. Rather, transactions made within or at a hospital (including but not limited to specialists, doctors, pharmacies, etcetera) are determined to be eligible by the associated MCC and not the location of the service provider in the hospital. New Advances, if eligible, can be repaid in full or over 4 installments with no origination or periodic finance fees. Late fees apply.
