Health Savings Accounts

Health Savings Accounts

Employees covered by a qualified high deductible health plan can use an HSA to save and pay for healthcare in a triple tax advantaged manner.  Contributions are tax free, withdrawals are tax free, and investment earnings are tax free.

Lane Health is an inclusive HSA. We support auto-enrollment and do not require an upfront contribution commitment, so employees are not left behind. With Lane Health, employees receive white-glove concierge customer service; we engage and educate at key teachable moments.  Click here to learn more.

HSA Advance² line of credit – makes healthcare more accessible and affordable.

We make HSAs work for more people. Our program requires no upfront HSA contribution commitment meaning everyone gets an account.

After activation, employees will have access to an Advance² line of credit of at least $500, and up to 4 weeks of gross pay (subject to IRS contribution limits) with no credit checks, thereby offering greater inclusivity.

Advances² and associated fees are repaid over 12 months through pre-tax payroll deductions.

By repaying with pre-tax dollars, employees can save 10-20+ percent3 on out-of-pocket costs, and employers save on payroll taxes.

Refund Booster – puts money in employee’s pocket

Employees who already have an HSA can capture foregone tax savings on prior years’ medical bills paid after tax.

Our easy, automated process allows employees to make additional pre-tax contributions with no cash outlay.

As a result, employers save on payroll taxes as well.

White Glove Concierge Customer Service

Lane Health’s concierge customer service stands out in delivering a superior customer experience.

We view every call as a teachable moment to engage and educate employees on their benefits.

Unlike other call centers, we make outbound calls (1/3 of our calls are outbound) to connect with employees, for example if a transaction is declined as a non-qualified expense.  We proactively work to support employees on whatever need or opportunity they face.

We don’t use complex IVRs – we answer the phone, and spend time talking to employees.

We return calls, even if a message is not left.

We have English and Spanish speaking advocates on staff and use a language line for other languages.

We offer virtual one-on-one meetings with our Advocates for employees who need additional assistance during open enrollment.

We achieve 90+% first call resolution with any required research completed within 24 hours for the remainder.

1 Lane Health is a financial technology company, not a bank. The Healthcare Spending VISA® Card is issued by Lead Bank pursuant to a license from Visa USA Inc.

2 Lane Health does not charge interest on, or an annual fee for, the Healthcare Spending VISA® Card.  “0% financing” pertains to repayment options that do not charge interest (0% interest) nor origination or periodic finance fees ($0 fees). Each Advance can be repaid in full, 4-month term or 12-month term (with a minimum $3 due each payment period). Transactions other than qualified dental and hospital expenses (based on merchant category code) will be charged an origination fee of 5% and periodic finance fees. The location of the service provider is not determinative of whether a transaction is a qualified dental or hospital expense. Rather, transactions made within or at a hospital (including but not limited to specialists, doctors, pharmacies, etcetera) are determined to be eligible by the associated MCC and not the location of the service provider in the hospital. New Advances, if eligible, can be repaid in full or over 4 installments with no origination or periodic finance fees. Late fees apply. You can review the fee table here.
